Mark has 17 years' experience in digital media. Now a driving force at digital agency Precedent, his broad experience has seen him in roles including information architect, designer, developer and project director. He works with clients to understand their businesses and implement cutting edge ways in which digital can help them to achieve success. He has been instrumental in Precedent’s solid growth, setting up their strategic consulting arm in 2002 which lead to being voted top agency for strategic thinking in 2006. He has also developed our abilities and reputation in key sectors such as charity, membership organisations and most recently, destinations.
Always looking out for emerging trends and building on his experience, Mark recently completed an Executive MBA at Cass Business School. He has facilitated well over 100 workshops for clients, and frequently presents at Precedent’s ever popular seminar series. He has also trained students at the Chartered Institute of Marketing and at other trainees at agencies on how to deliver effective digital services. Stewart's career began in the social science field. As head of an audience research team at the BBC he developed knowledge of how people consume TV and how they understand and ‘read’ it. Moving to the seminal BBC Domesday project as Social Science Editor he took that a stage further defining new ways of communicating via interactive media. He's helped shape the industry through his work with the likes of BBC, Apple Computers, Macromedia, European Commission, British Library R&D Dept. Taskforce 2000, UK Multimedia SIG and DTI Electronic Publishing and Content Taskforce.
Co-founded Nexus Multimedia and sold to Omnicom's AMVBBDO where Stewart worked for 7 years at Traffic Interactive and then Proximity London in Board and Managing Partner level positions leading their digital offering. He's a passionate evangelist for interactive digital media and often been a key note speaker at international conferences and events as well as being a regular contributor to trade journals and press. Stewart maintains his involvement with innovative projects and developments in the digital space through consultancy and non-executive directorships.
